I hope he makes a lot of new friends and gets along with everyone. Unfortunately, I'm stuck here in the winter weather of Toronto and won't be able to make it to the opening this time but if you can make it, take lots of pictures and please don't hesitate to share any selfies with him to my email lisangart@hotmail.com I would love to share them with my team! Lizards love to camouflage into their environment so I decorated the room accordingly. Although when they get into fights or try to attract a mate is when they bust out their vibrant colours. I hope this one's trying to attract a mate, it's Valentine's Day after all. I hope he gets some luck and gets to go home with someone this year, and not just fights with the animals and people around him.. Here are some further close ups of the painting:

My Official Happy Chinese New Year 2019 Statement

Every year I've been re-doing my Furry Lisa painting into a new meme with no shortage of ideas. Here is my official Happy Chinese New Year 2019 Statement, this year is the pig. Scroll through older posts to the find my Chinese New Years statements past! I think this one is the best one yet if I may be so bold.

Also working away on this new painting here, it's far from done so don't get too excited although I am already. A giant snake in the upstairs bathroom of my imaginary dream home. It took awhile to map her out, I drew and redrew her a few times but now I got her piling in and out of the tub, hanging from the ceiling, climbing out of the glass shower door and all tangled up in the plumbing between the toilet and the sink. Just the other day I came across this article about how snakes were hiding in the pipes of bathrooms to keep warm. I love drawing and painting snakes. I love how they can be simple or complex. This one's more on the complex side but I can't wait to do the scales and the marble tiling!

I joined a penpal community! A friend suggested it to keep me from feeling lonely during the long days in my studio. Getting into the subculture of letter writing, another art form in itself! I ordered a wax seal online, can't wait for it to arrive. Couldn't sleep the other night trying to decide what colour wax to get. Super nerdy, but super fun!! Feel free to shoot me a letter, I will respond!
