The Spooky Astronauts Drawing Club

Yes, I am also Lisa Ng Rogue Leader of the Spooky Astronauts Drawing Club. This was not a name I gave myself but a title that was given, I'm mostly in it for the drawing though. Here are just 3 from some of my favourite picks from dozens of others. These are ones we done together, my friends and I. Collective drawings, digitally refurbished, for communal and or private enjoyment. You can purchase them as posters in small medium to large format, just ask! I take the club pretty seriously, probably too serious, but the ideas! SO MANY IDEAS Put 1 drawing in and get 10 back, always I am drowning in drawings. Pretty scary stuff!

PANORAMARAMA Pt. 2

Here's my finished painting of the work in progress I posted earlier, in case you were paying attention. I should add I have been having dreams about this snake that follows me around. The backgrounds would change but this snake kept slithering its way back into my life, I wonder what it means! This is where I would give you a shrug, worth taking note though.

PANORAMAMA Pt. 1

A couple of experiments in panorama. I took these reference shots around U of T, can you guess where? I tinkered with them to make them interesting. I wanted to make a strange world and a landscape of sorts. I like to change things up everyone and then, it keeps things interesting! My favourite part was developing the source of light.

FORK IN THE ROAD (GARDENSCAPE)

DYPTYCH

I finished this diptych a few months ago but never blogged about it, whoops. A couple of friends who look out for each other and together they form a rainbow : ) : ) I never like to overthink my ideas which is easy when you've encountered a taste for success. It's far too easy to please people and hard enough as it is to find your own voice! For these reasons I like to go with my gut, first and foremost. Art making stays interesting this way and it keeps your audience guessing.

2018 Embarking On A Mystery

Happy 2018 Everybody,

Below is my 2017 painting summary, I did 10 paintings this year (depicted below)! This year has treated me well and I got a lot of painting done. I'm pretty happy with how they turned out but am nervous and excited as always for what's to come. For uncropped images and price depictions you can visit my Saatchi Art website: https://www.saatchiart.com/account/artworks/672002

I also added more merchandise (affordable mugs, beach towels, t-shirts and tote bags) to my Fine Art America Page at: https://fineartamerica.com/profiles/1-lisa-ng.html

Right now I'm spending a lot of time in a new panorama street scape, depicted below. This is the work in progress, first coat, it will likely take 6 to 8 coats. I'm excited about painting in the light sources and accompanying shadows and gradients. Those are interesting to me, I'm not sure why. Maybe I'm stuck in a state of discovery, uncovering my own shadows, fears and outer edges of my own personal darkness (and lightness!), who knows?! The mystery engulfs me.
