STRIKE UPDATE

Since deciding to strike, eye have turned down
three shows. Negotiaons with the universe have
begun. It has bin generating at least sum mild
attention: In the past 2.5 weeks eye have been
approached to submit pictures two a website that
aren't up yet, May B bee in a 3-6 minute film,
meat to further discuss a project for mass
production that hasn't happened yet, and I did one
interview, got called to do another one, then got
turned down by the same won, and have 2
prospects for doing 1 more.

It has also recently occurred to me that I might
need to make more specific goals. For instance, one
example might be health benefits, specifically for
eyewear. For how can I paint my pictures with my
i sight so blurry. Maybe I should consult my health
care provider, ore LensCrafters.

The strike also seems to be generating some
more very popular and interesting questions. I
shall answer them now:

Why the strike?
You can't get what you want unless you ask for it.

How much longer do you project the strike to last?
Undecided, but I have an inkling there will be
another vote in at least by two months.

How many people are voting?
Just me.

Are you still painting?
Of course.

Can you tell me about it?
It's four feet by three feet, a very warm one, to help
with the bitter cold.

Did you get screwed over recently?

Nothing out of the ordinary that I can recall.
Yet, generally all day every day because it's never going to
be worth more than when I'm dead.

ANNOUNCING CREATIVITY SHARING STRIKE

Despite 7 years of dedication and modest success
in my last string of shows, I will like to announce
that I will be holding a creativity sharing strike. Do
to lack of funds, cost of rental space, cost of
transportation, lack of health benefits, comments
made on my blog that are trying to sell people Uggs
boots, the recession, etc. etc., I will be withdrawing
my art from the public arena for awhile. The strike,
however, will not affect production, but until
negotiations with the universe are sorted out, I
remain privately hoarding.

FAQ

How long is the strike projected to go on for?

It is uncertain at this point.

Will this affect the sale of the $1 painting?

Perhaps, should the strike end sometime after
June, I will re-schedule the sale.

Will the price of the painting go up due to
interest and inflation?

No.

I am feeling down and can't find anything good to
look at, what am I suppose to do now?

You can do a number of things:

1. Go look for another picture source.
2. Consult your local library.
3. Make your own.

$1 PAINTING

Ay finally finished my $1 Painting. I came up with the
idea over half a year ago, but never got around 2 it, beeee
cause let's face it, it wasn't gonna pay me much. Then just
recently eye was thinking about how if I were to die
tommorrow, what was the won thing I would have
regretted not getting around to making:

An 8 x 10 inch painting jam packed with $1 items
(although most of these items are probably no longer $1).
Covered in layers of intrinsic value, it will be available four
for $1. Sale begins, I'm thinking sometime in June, probably
in a park somewhere, I'm hoping for a Sunday, at precisely
1pm. Sail is not open to friends ore family.

Q & A ON THOUGHTS OF THE PROGRESSION OF WEIRD ART

I just had an interesting little diddy of a convo that eye thought eye should share so I cut and pasted it, threw in some spelling errors and posted it here four you:

What is the type of art that's like weird sculptures and stuff?

Hm, you are probably thinking more modern art. I'd say it all bee gan during the 1930s and onwards. Dadaism (Destroying old ideas of traditional art)---> Surrealism (Exploration of dreams and the unreal)---> Conceptualism (Exploration of the idea and not the artwork itself)

That's considered modern?

So basically I would say new art is always the weirdest until it gets old and worn out. Well Oh K eye guess maybe you define modern as knew. So maybe modern means 1990s onwards.Butt if you ask me, true weirdness began in the 1930s roughly, when things were especially made differently because it was clear they needed something new. When things broke away from the stuff they already had seen before. Like away from paintings that are made to look like the things that were painted like the Renaissance paintings, the Da Vinci, the Mona Lisa. Although won could also argue that weird art began with the impressionists which is 1800s??? Not sure.................because they thought impressionism was weird when that first came out... and it's replaced buy something even newer and weirder. Art is always evolving, and the newer should be the weirder, I would say, because it should always be challenging how people think.

Ok so art in general is always going to be weird.

If it's to push the boundaries: YES.
Butt there is always art that stays within parameters too.
But this art can become boring because it is no longer applicable to the time.

Does art ever repeat history, like fashion does?

Hm. Good question, from what i know, it hasn't yet.

It usually takes some aspect of some older art and changes it somehow to evolve. I guess you could say it is always influenced from what came before, but does not repeat.

Yeah I guess fashion's the same way, they take older styles and make it more suited for the new generation. How do people think of new names to call the art everytime something new comes out?

That's another very good question. I would say more often than not the art critic does, and on the very odd occasion the artist.. But even so the art critic usually makes the decision to either use the words of the artist, or disregard the words of the artist. Butt it is usually the people who write about the art who become the choosers of the words on how to describe that art. I guess you could say they are art journalists to be less negative.

Alrighty, I'm going to bed. Just needed a little refresher on the weirdness of art.
